Made in America with Yukon Forge

Yukon Forge is a family-owned business in Northern Colorado, led by John McNerney, a skilled blacksmith and farrier with over 25 years of experience in metalwork. John began working with metal in 1997 while attending farrier school at Colorado State University, where he discovered his passion for blacksmithing. He refined his craft over the years, eventually founding Yukon Forge with his wife, Megan.

John is also a Certified Journeyman Farrier by the American Farrier Association and has competed globally as a member of the AFA Team, including in the U.S., Canada, Scotland, and England. John's reputation in the blacksmithing world grew further when he became the champion of the reality TV show Forged In Fire in 2019. 

Years ago, Flying V's co-founder Brady Davis apprenticed under John McNerney, and together they competed in the World Championship Blacksmiths, winning multiple titles as a team and individually. Their shared success and deep bond made it clear that John McNerney was the ideal partner when Flying V set out to create this legacy knife, Bird Blade.
